Okay, so today is my 3rd day. It's really insane how hectic this can be. I started on Saturday because I'm attending a really glitzy event on Sunday, and needed something to fast-track my weight-loss journey. Well, Saturday, my first day, was quite difficult to say the least - temptation everywhere. Yesterday my parents decided to buy KFC for Sunday lunch. I of course just had to sit with them and let the mouthwatering aroma fill my hunger senses. Today I'm back at work, so there's not that much temptation.

Regarding my weight loss: the scale is saying 2kg for the past 2 days, but my clothes are telling another story. Everything is much more loose. Since I'm not that overweight, I know the results wont be that drastic, but even with just these 2kg's lost in 2 days, I'm already feeling like a new revitalized person.

Lets wait and see how the next week pans out.

Day 4: Wow!!! I have honestly not felt this good in a LONG time. I always had a problem with indigestion, and would suffer from bloatedness, and and fatigue, and my lower back would constantly ache due to the pressure of the gas. But this morning, after my 3rd dreaded SWF I left the bathroom feeling so energised. It's such a blessing to just breath freely, and feel so healthy.

My weight loss so far is 2.5kg, but right now it's more than just the weight loss that's motivating me to go on with this. The feeling of superb health is invaluable, and cannot be measured in kg's.

Tonight is the dreaded 4-course Christmas dinner that I'm attending. I have no idea yet how I'm going to manage not eating all the yummy food, but I will update tomorrow.

Will you allow me to cheat on you oh MC, even if just with a vegetable?

Don't even think about eating any of it or watch that good feeling evaporate within an hour :)

Day 5: Yesterday's 4-course Christmas Dinner was hectic to say the least. I sat there watching everyone eat the yummy avo and shrimp starter, and malva pudding desert, and I at one point did question the stupidity in my actions while choosing to abstain from this feast. Yet, I did not succumb. My friend, who is also a personal trainer told me that lettuce have absolutely no nutritional value. It just makes you full without adding or subtracting anything to your body. So I had one piece of lettuce the size of my hand. That's it.

Weight loss: yesterday the scale read 61.5kg. Now let me say this one thing: Since I got the scale which was 22 September 2007, my scale has never read 62kg or less. So, needless to say I am stoked. I worked so hard, and my weigh loss so far has been 3kg - from 64.5 to 61.5kg. I do feel like it's starting so slow down though, but that's okay. I feel so much better already.

The ultimate test will be this: my friend, the personal trainer took my body fat percentage before I started and told me that after the 10 days he will take it again to see whether or not the weight that I lost is actual fat or if it's muscle - in which case the MC is not the healthiest of eating programmes.

Well, we'll see.For now, if I can just get through today, it'll be downhill from here.

Glad you made through the dinner wendyfm but I beg to differ with your personal trainer. While (iceberg) lettuce may be mostly water it is most definitely not devoid of nutrition. Be that as it may, the main point of not eating is not to deprive yourself of nutrition but to close down your digestive system (which must break down food of all kinds) and make the energy and resources available for other, backlogged, internal tasks.

The digestive process starts with the mind and begins in earnest when you chew, your saliva glands producing enzymes to break down food before it even enters your throat. All this requires a major shift in your body's energy focus, away from wherever it is, back to digestion. Eating "just a little something" will ultimately thwart the Cleanse process and start you craving things again.

The MC is not an "eating programme" - in fact its just the opposite. As many people will attest, the benefits of the MC are far greater than just weight loss, whether that be from fat, muscle or bone. And the cleansing is a process that your body is in charge of, not your intellectual aspirations or expectations! Leave it be to work its magic and stay out of the way for the duration - that is the MC!

And when you do get back to eating again and you inquire a little into the topic of nutrition you will find that food with a high water-content is a key ingredient of a healthy meal.

Haha. Sounds like you're too focussed on what you're missing wendyfm :) Don't torture yourself, its only a few days and you'll really be grateful at the end of it, trust me...rinse and flush, rinse and flush. Keep it going, babe...
